Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and driven Die Corrector to join our team in Chandler, AZ. In this role, you’ll be a key player in promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. You’ll lead the implementation of EHS programs, support compliance efforts, and provide hands-on safety support across our operations.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Inspect extruded aluminum products for dimensional accuracy, contour, and surface quality.
- Repair, polish, and maintain production dies, tools, and related accessories.
- Maintain die-storage facilities; heat, prepare, and deliver production dies and tools as required.
Materials Used, Processed, and Handled
Aluminum products, ferrous metals, lubricants, paints, solvents, abrasives, rust inhibitors, wire, string, caustic solutions, emery cloth, chemicals, water, and die penetrant.
Tools and Equipment Used
Measuring & Inspection Tools:
Micrometers, verniers, optical comparators, gauges, templates, hardness testers, straightness test stands, calipers, dial indicators, pi tapes, profilometers.
Machinery & Equipment:
Presses, lathes, dry-blast equipment, heat‑treating equipment, table saws, buffing tools, extrude‑hone machines, electric drills, hand and air grinders, torches.
Hand Tools & Accessories:
Files, peening tools, chisels, wrenches, straightedges, steel taps and drills, threading dies, brushes, stencils, carbide burrs.
Material‑Handling Equipment:
Pendant‑controlled cranes, hoists, industrial trucks, trailers, carts, tongs, hand trucks, caustic tanks and pumps, dip and lube tanks, vacu‑blast systems, polishers.
Direction Exercised
Duties and Work Procedures
- Work from blueprints, drawings, templates, and extrusion samples to repair extrusion dies and tools.
- Cut, prepare, and identify samples for inspection.
- Inspect extrusions and tube samples for contour, dimensions, quality, and surface finish.
- Verify lot cast numbers and inspection results before final approval.
- Operate caustic‑cleaning equipment.
- Review quality records and prints to confirm compliance with customer requirements.
- Prepare repair slips for extrusion dies.
- Inspect extrusion tools for quality, straightness, and dimensional accuracy.
- Enter and retrieve data using a computer.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date file of die prints and tool locations.
- Operate cranes, hoists, carts to transport production tools, supplies, and materials.
- Maintain records and report production data.
- Identify, store, issue, prepare, assemble, heat, transport, and clean dies, tools, and accessories.
- Inspect, polish, and salvage press tools and tube dies; document revisions on tool orders.
- Operate die and tool ovens, including setting temperatures and maintaining temperature‑recording charts.
Qualifications
You have: (required)
- 2 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Tool and Die knowledge experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
