Job Summary
The Event Childcare Aide provides safe, nurturing, and age-appropriate care for children during parish events, ministry meetings, retreats, classes, and special church functions. This role supports families participating in parish life by maintaining a welcoming and faith-centered environment consistent with Catholic values and diocesan policies.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise children during church events and activities
- Provide a safe, clean, and caring environment
- Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, stories, and activities
- Assist children with snacks, restroom breaks, and basic needs
- Follow parish safety procedures and child protection policies
- Maintain accurate attendance and sign-in/sign-out procedures
- Communicate respectfully with parents, guardians, staff, and volunteers
- Respond calmly and appropriately to behavioral or minor medical situations
- Sanitize toys, tables, and childcare areas after use
- Support a welcoming Christian atmosphere rooted in Catholic values
Job Requirements
- Experience working with children preferred
- Friendly, dependable, and patient demeanor
- Ability to supervise multiple children in a group setting
- Basic first aid/CPR certification preferred
- Completion of diocesan safe environment training and background check requirements
- Respect for Catholic teachings and parish mission
