Engineer - Java

Position Summary: What does the job entail As a developer within our Product & Quality Domain, you will?be responsible for several Java-related duties throughout the software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle Design, implement and maintain Java-based applications that can be high-volume and low-latency Ensure application designs conform with business goals Develop and test software Identify and resolve any technical issues arising Develop technical designs for application development Develop multimedia applications Write well designed, testable code Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging Prepare and produce releases of software components Who are we looking for? We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical background and substantial experience as a Java Developer, particularly in working with multi-component applications in an Agile environment. You should be capable of challenging technical solutions, participating in the development, testing and deployment of the solution. Key Competencies: Proficiency in Java 8 and more, with a good understanding of its ecosystems Familiarity with different design and architectural patterns Skill for writing reusable Java libraries? Understanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern (Struts Framework), JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), EJB and RESTful web services Ability to write clean, readable Java code Experience in handling external databases (DB2, SQL, Stored Procedure) Skilled at creating database schemas that characterize and support business processes Basic knowledge of JVM (Java Virtual Machine), its drawbacks, weaknesses, and workarounds In-depth knowledge of code versioning tools, for instance, Git Understanding of building tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc Other required skills of java developer include the basic knowledge of: JavaServer pages (JSP) and servlets Web frameworks like Struts Web Technologies like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery Markup Languages such as XML, JSON Relevant experience in a similar role. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
