As Foundation Manager, you’ll partner with the Foundation Board and hospital leaders to grow philanthropy that supports patients, caregivers, and critical services—so neighbors can access exceptional care close to home.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, public administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of progressively responsible fundraising/development experience (annual giving, events, major gifts, and/or grants), preferably in health care or a mission-driven organization.
- Demonstrated experience building donor relationships and communicating impact effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare proposals, donor correspondence, and board-ready reports.
- Proficiency with common office software and donor databases/CRM systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a foundation board and committees, including supporting governance best practices.
- Knowledge of rural health care, critical access hospitals, or community health systems.
- Experience with capital campaigns and/or planned giving.
- Grant writing and grant management experience with measurable outcomes reporting.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CFRE) is a plus.
Summary
Position Summary
The Hospital Foundation Manager leads and manages the hospital foundation’s fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and community engagement activities to advance the mission of a rural hospital and improve access to high-quality local health care. This role develops and executes strategies to increase philanthropic support, ensures effective stewardship and reporting of donor funds, and strengthens the foundation’s visibility and impact across the community and service area.
This position serves as the Foundation Executive Director as defined in the foundation bylaws and is accountable for day-to-day foundation operations in partnership with the Foundation Board of Directors.
