Within Nuclear New Build (NNB) engineering organization, the Lead Process Engineer holds full responsibility for the assigned Process Engineering scope, ensuring technical excellence, the quality of deliverables, and adherence to schedule and cost targets throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities – Lead Process Engineer
As a Lead Process Engineer, you will play a central role in driving the technical execution of complex power generation projects. Your main responsibilities will include:
Project & Contract Execution
Represent the Process Engineering scope within the project team.
Take over the project from the Tendering team, including review of the Division of Work, contract documentation, and risk log.
Perform contract review, identify risks and opportunities, and propose technical deviations and clarifications to the Project Engineering Manager.
Planning & Coordination
Contribute to the development of the overall engineering schedule and manage the planning of Process Engineering activities.
Support resource planning at both project and functional levels.
Coordinate daily with other Lead Engineers (calculations, arrangement, mechanical equipment, piping & valves, electrical, etc.).
Ensure efficient communication across teams, functions, as well as with the partners and the client.
Process Engineering Activities
Lead and perform the following engineering tasks, supported by the team of Process engineers and internal experts:
Process system design including P&IDs, System Design Manuals, control logic diagrams, management of mechanical/electrical/I&C interfaces.
Nuclear safety, functional safety, and RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) studies.
Manage mechanical and functional interfaces with customers and partners.
Participate in technical meetings with clients and partners related to your scope.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure that all engineering deliverables meet contractual requirements, project standards, and internal Arabelle Solutions procedures.
Guarantee timely, accurate and high‑quality information delivery to internal and external customers.
Lead design reviews (mechanical process, process control, system layout), ensure timely closure of actions, manage design freeze, and apply design change processes.
Testing, Construction Support & As-Built Documentation
Coordinate and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for the control system.
Ensure quick processing of Non‑Conformity Reports and provide support to construction and commissioning teams on site.
Coordinate and deliver the Process “as‑built” documentation, and collect and share lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Reporting
Report operationally to the Project Engineering Manager for all project-related matters (what, when).
Report functionally to your Line Manager for all other topics (how, who).
Candidate profile:
Engineering degree in Energy Engineering, or Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics.
5 years of experience in Process & Control Engineering within the energy or better power generation sector.
On‑site experience, ideally a minimum of 3 months.
Knowledge of the nuclear or broader energy industry.
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary aspects of power plant engineering, including equipment specifications, installation, and electrical design.
Knowledge of water‑steam cycles and steam turbine and generator auxiliary systems used in power plants.
Proficiency with standard office software tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Excellent communication skills in both French and English, written and spoken.
Ability to plan, organize and co-ordinate well, delegate and supervise.
Ability to lead, motivate and persuade their team members, enjoys personal contact.
