Role & Responsibilities
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Lead - Product Engineering to spearhead the execution of our software products. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, fostering a high-performance culture, and aligning technical teams with strategic business goals. You will act as a facilitator and coach, removing impediments to accelerate delivery flow while maintaining high standards of quality, scalability, and user-centric design.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of product engineering projects, ensuring timely releases and adherence to quality standards.
- Agile Leadership: Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming) to keep teams focused, aligned, and productive.
- Roadmap to Execution: Translate product roadmaps, user stories, and requirements into actionable technical delivery plans.
- Impediment Removal: Proactively identify, resolve, or escalate roadblocks (technical, process, or dependencies) that hinder development velocity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Architects, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless product development.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and dependencies across squads, developing mitigation strategies to protect delivery timelines.
- Quality and Process Optimization: Enforce engineering best practices, including code quality, test coverage, and continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and inspire multidisciplinary teams, fostering accountability, engagement, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide transparency into delivery progress, metrics (velocity, lead time), and project risks to leadership and stakeholders.
- Go beyond just producing code toward delivering measurable business value and user outcomes.
- Act as the "engineers' partner," facilitating technical decisions rather than just managing timelines.
- AI & Data Program Delivery – Partner with Aptia's Data CoE and IA CoE to integrate AI capabilities into live pensions and benefits administration products
Required Skills and Experience
Must-Have
- Experience: 12–18+ years of experience in technology or operations delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing programs of significant scale and complexity (e.g., Delivery Manager, Technical Lead, Scrum Master).
- Proven track record delivering cross-functional program in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments — ideally including at least one high-growth startup or startup-within-enterprise context
- Agile Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies, preferably with experience in scaled agile frameworks (SAFe).
- Technical Background: Strong familiarity with modern product engineering, including cloud-native development (AWS/Azure), CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage complex technical and organizational challenges.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
