Position Overview
Requires a highly motivated individual with a strong ability to assess customer requirements and translate them into an effective manufacturing schedule. This role demands exceptional communication skills, and a results-driven mindset focused on achieving performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a production schedule that aligns ship dates with customer order requests while optimizing manufacturing efficiency.
- Analyze and integrate customer forecasts into the production schedule.
- Plan and oversee mold maintenance activities.
- Coordinate mold downtime with Engineering, Quality, Tool Room, Customer Service, and production teams, ensuring smooth progress for new and updated tooling projects.
- Organize mold sampling processes.
- Provide accurate and timely updates to Customer Service on production orders.
- Manage inventory levels according to company guidelines to ensure customer satisfaction and enable precise production scheduling.
- Adjust plans to align customer demands with plant productivity metrics.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Commercial Services to interpret sales forecasts and optimize planning.
- Maximize machine/mold utilization within capacity constraints.
- Create and implement reporting systems to track schedule performance, identify variances, and promote continuous improvement.
- Communicate proactively about potential disruptions in supply, raw material changes, or service issues.
- Participate actively in sub-plant and departmental meetings.
- Coordinate with Logistics to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Maintain inventory for assigned products to meet service and goal targets.
- Monitor and manage rejected or reworked materials, coordinating replacements with Quality, supplier quality teams, and manufacturing.
- Ensure material and component availability to meet customer needs, collaborating with purchasing as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, or Operations Management is preferred. However, a comparable blend of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
- APICS Certification (CPIM) preferred.
- At least four years of experience in production/inventory control or material planning.
- Intermediate proficiency in business software applications (SAP, Microsoft Office).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven cross-functional skills and knowledge.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- SAP experience preferred; familiarity with SAP’s Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) module is an advantage.
