Why Waste Wednesdays Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting positive environmental change and sustainability. Focused on reducing single-use plastics and fostering community involvement, the foundation aligns its efforts with UN SDGs 11, 12, 13, and 17. Its initiatives include innovative projects such as Vikalp "Borrow a Bag," the crockery bank, and the Navjeevan Vihar RRR Centre, along with executing Zero Waste events and creating Zero Waste models. The foundation operates with a mission to inspire action for a sustainable future and holds certifications including 12A, 80G, CSR-1, MSME, and NITI Aayog registrations.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Apprentice role located in New Delhi with Why Waste Wednesdays Foundation. The Apprentice will be involved in organizing and supporting community-based sustainability initiatives, conducting research, planning events, and engaging with local communities to promote Zero Waste practices. Responsibilities will also include supporting day-to-day operations, contributing to social media and communications strategies, maintaining project databases, and collaborating with team members to achieve the foundation's goals.

Qualifications

• Skills in research, data collection, and analysis
• Event coordination and project planning abilities
• Community engagement and public speaking skills
• MS Office Profiency. AI tools is an added advantage
• Proficiency in social media management and content creation
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• A commitment to sustainability and environmental causes
• Bachelor's degree
• Basic knowledge of sustainability concepts and the UN SDGs is an advantage
