We are looking for a dynamic Application Engineer to join our team and serve as the technical bridge between our high-end software solutions (SolidWorks, Mastercam) and our valued clients across Tamilnadu.
Role Overview:
As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical sales, pre-sales support, implementation, and training of SolidWorks and Mastercam software. This is a field-heavy role requiring you to travel extensively across Tamilnadu to understand client challenges, demonstrate solutions, and ensure successful software adoption in manufacturing and tooling environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement & Technical Sales: Visit client sites across Tamilnadu to understand engineering and manufacturing requirements. Conduct product demonstrations of SolidWorks (3D design, simulation, PDM) and Mastercam (CAD/CAM, CNC programming).
- Implementation & Support: Provide post-sales implementation support, installation, and troubleshooting for clients to ensure seamless integration of software into their production workflows.
- Training & Development: Conduct on-site and off-site training sessions for engineers and CNC programmers on best practices in design and machining.
- Proof of Concept (POC): Prepare benchmark tests and proof of concepts to showcase how SolidWorks and Mastercam can optimize the client’s specific manufacturing processes.
- Technical Consultation: Advise clients on hardware requirements, toolpath strategies, and design optimization to maximize productivity.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery, and job shop sectors.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- Software Proficiency:
- SolidWorks: Strong expertise in 3D modeling, sheet metal, surface modeling, and assemblies. Certification (CSWP/CSWE) is a plus.
- Mastercam: Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM, 2D & 3D milling, lathe, and multiaxis programming.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing workflows.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in application engineering, technical support, or pre-sales in the CAD/CAM domain.
- Soft Skills: Excellent presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Other: Must be willing to travel extensively across Tamilnadu (up to 75% of the time) . A valid driver’s license and own vehicle are preferred.
