About The Role
The Senior Application Development (SAP – Global Tax Projects) at Cargill plays a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and enhancing software applications that support the company's global tax initiatives. This position is responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and deploying SAP solutions that streamline tax processes across diverse regions. The role requires a high level of technical expertise and a deep understanding of SAP FI/CO modules, particularly in relation to tax and localization requirements. Working with minimal supervision, the incumbent will ensure the stability, efficiency, and compliance of SAP tax solutions, supporting Cargill’s commitment to operational excellence and regulatory adherence. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and continuously improving application performance to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in information technology, finance, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of nine years of relevant professional experience, with many candidates having over a decade in the field. Proven expertise in SAP FI/CO modules, with a particular emphasis on tax and localization functionalities, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate experience supporting indirect tax configurations and implementations within SAP, including integration with third-party tax engines such as TaxOne, OneSource, and others. Experience working in complex, multinational organizations with a matrixed structure is highly desirable, as it requires strong cross-regional collaboration skills. A comprehensive understanding of SAP Document Reporting, Compliance, Statutory Reporting, eDocuments, FI Tax, and General Ledger processes is critical. Additionally, candidates should have a solid grasp of both direct and indirect tax processes, including tax determination logic and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage complex application configurations to meet diverse business and user requirements, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Perform advanced configuration, testing, and deployment activities for SAP application updates, releases, and fixes, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with end-users and stakeholders to address support requests and provide timely resolutions.
- Conduct technical support activities for SAP tax applications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system stability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business partners, to align configurations with organizational standards and project objectives.
- Lead the prioritization and management of incident tickets and user requests, ensuring efficient resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Manage relationships with software vendors, negotiate complex contracts, and oversee vendor performance to ensure service quality and compliance with organizational standards.
