Your Role And Responsibilities
As an Application Database Administrator specializing in Oracle OCI Cloud Apps, you will build and support the OCI Landing Zone, administer Oracle databases on OCI-native services, and ensure enterprise-grade security, availability, and performance. You will provision and migrate databases, design high availability and disaster recovery, enforce OCI-native security and compliance controls, and administer OCI Core Infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Design and Implement High Availability: Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery with Autonomous Data Guard, GoldenGate on OCI, and native OCI backup/recovery solutions. This includes ensuring enterprise standards for security, tenancy design, compartments, network segmentation, and logging are enforced.
- Provision and Maintain Databases: Provision, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain databases and applications using OCI-native services such as Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service, and DB Systems.
- Monitor and Tune Workloads: Monitor and tune workloads using OCI Database Management Service, Operations Insights, and other observability services to optimize performance.
- Implement Security Controls: Implement OCI-native security controls including IAM policies, OCI Key Management Service (KMS), Vault, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), auditing, and compliance with frameworks like SOC2, GDPR, and ISO.
- Automate Lifecycle Management: Automate database and application lifecycle and infrastructure provisioning with OCI Resource Manager (CD3/Terraform), OCI CLI, Ansible, and SDKs.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Exposure to Oracle Database Administration: Experience working with Oracle databases, including provisioning, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining databases on OCI-native services such as Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service, and DB Systems.
- Familiarity with High Availability Solutions: Experience with designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Autonomous Data Guard, GoldenGate on OCI, and native OCI backup/recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of OCI Security Controls: Experience with implementing OCI-native security controls, including IAM policies, OCI Key Management Service (KMS), Vault, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), auditing, and compliance with frameworks like SOC2, GDPR, and ISO.
- Understanding of OCI Core Infrastructure: Experience working with OCI Core Infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, compartments, tagging, and policies to support secure and scalable application/database landing zones.
- Experience with Automation Tools: Exposure to automating database and application lifecycle and infrastructure provisioning with OCI Resource Manager (CD3/Terraform), OCI CLI, Ansible, and SDKs.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Familiarity with Cloud Migration: Exposure to migrating databases and applications to cloud-based environments, specifically Oracle OCI Cloud Apps.
- Knowledge of Observability Services: Experience working with observability services like OCI Database Management Service and Operations Insights to monitor and tune workloads.
- Understanding of Compliance Frameworks: Exposure to compliance frameworks like SOC2, GDPR, and ISO, and implementing OCI-native security controls to meet these standards.
