App Dev Engineer II (Varicent SPM – ICM)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled
Senior Varicent SPM Developer with strong hands-on experience in the
Varicent Sales Performance Management (SPM) platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting incentive compensation solutions while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid development background, and the ability to work in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain Varicent SPM solutions including compensation plans, crediting logic, workflows, and reports.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and scalable Varicent models.
- Develop and optimize data models, calculations, and rules to support incentive compensation processes.
- Perform system enhancements, defect fixes, and performance tuning of existing Varicent implementations.
- Support end-to-end development lifecycle including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with business users, product owners, QA, and other engineering teams to ensure solution accuracy and performance.
- Build supporting scripts, automations, or integrations using JavaScript and Python where required.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Varicent SPM (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of incentive compensation concepts, sales performance metrics, and commission processing.
- JavaScript for business logic and custom extensions.
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing, automation, or integrations (External Tools).
- Experience working with complex datasets, calculations, and reporting.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and best development practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Good To Have / Preferred Skills
- Full-stack development experience (frontend and backend).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure Functions, App Services, Storage, SQL, or related services).
- Exposure to cloud-based integrations and API development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of databases and data modelling (SQL preferred).
- Prior experience supporting enterprise-scale compensation systems.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, testing, or debugging accelerators) to improve development productivity and code quality.
