Job Overview: Control Fire Systems/APIC Solutions is looking for Fire Protection Interns for the summer of 2026 with potential opportunities for work during spring/fall semesters. This internship is for an upcoming data center project in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This is ideal for students in the Fire Protection and Safety Technology Program who are looking to pursue a career in the Fire Sprinkler industry including project management and design. The responsibilities of this position include assisting in installation of fire sprinkler systems, learning to read working blueprints, assisting superintendent in daily operations, producing reports/documents and introductions to sprinkler design. This opportunity gives candidates a full understanding of the Fire Sprinkler Industry from start to finish.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
– Assist in Fire Sprinkler system installation and testing
– Assist project superintendent in daily operations
– Attend project meetings as needed.
– Perform site safety walks.
– Participate in training programs for installation, design and management.
– Collaborate with design department on questions or installation issues.
– Produce Quality Control reports and other documentation upon request.
– Markup installation redline drawings
– Perform design training/activities as instructed by the design department.
– Engage with co-workers to further knowledge and skills in the industry.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
– Pursuit of Fire Protection and Safety Technology Degree
– Ability to obtain required licenses and certifications
– Possess good communication skills.
– Eager to learn and be willing to be under guidance of experienced technicians
– Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
– Comfortable working at heights and outdoors
– Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds regularly
– Strong work ethic, punctuality and reliability.
– Basic hand and power tool knowledge.
