Summary: We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented API Testers to join our dynamic IT Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test strategies to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our API-driven applications. As an API Tester, you will play a critical role in validating the integrity of application programming interfaces across various environments, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and compliance with industry standards. Your work will directly impact product quality, system stability, and customer satisfaction, making you a key contributor to the success of our software delivery lifecycle. This position requires a strong foundation in API testing methodologies, automation tools, and a deep understanding of RESTful and SOAP-based services. Responsibilities: Design and implement detailed test plans and test cases for RESTful and SOAP APIs Execute manual and automated API tests using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured, or similar Perform functional, regression, load, security, and integration testing on APIs Analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution Develop and maintain reusable test scripts and test frameworks using programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) Conduct API security testing to identify vulnerabilities such as authentication flaws, injection risks, and data exposure Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and development teams in CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated API tests Monitor API performance and reliability under varying load conditions using tools like JMeter or Gatling Document test coverage, metrics, and reporting for stakeholders and management Stay updated with emerging API testing trends, tools, and best practices Requirements Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2 years of hands-on experience in API testing within IT services or software development environments Proficiency in using API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured, or similar Strong understanding of REST and SOAP protocols, HTTP methods, status codes, and headers Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) for test automation Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of API tests into automated build processes Knowledge of API security testing principles and common vulnerabilities (OWASP API Security Top 10) Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling is a plus Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in agile environments Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
