Job details:
We’re looking for a Junior API Tester with around 1 year of experience who can validate backend APIs, ensure correct data flow, and support integration testing. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in API testing tools and a willingness to learn.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔍 API Testing
Execute test cases for REST APIs (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE)
Validate:
Status codes
Response body (JSON/XML)
Request/response correctness
🔗 Integration Testing
Support testing of end-to-end API flows
Validate basic workflows (e.g., create → update → fetch → delete)
🧪 Testing Tools
Work with tools like Postman and Swagger
Run collections and basic scripts in Postman
📊 Data Validation
Perform basic SQL queries to validate backend data
Cross-check API response with database values
🐞 Defect Tracking
Log and track defects in Jira
Retest fixes and update status
🧠 Required Skills
Must-Have
Basic understanding of REST APIs
Familiarity with Postman / Swagger
Knowledge of:
HTTP methods & status codes
JSON format
Basic SQL knowledge
Understanding of test cases and bug lifecycle
Good-to-Have
Exposure to automation tools like Playwright (optional)
Understanding of authentication (basic token-based APIs)
👩💻 Experience
0.6 – 1.5 years in API / Manual Testing
Internship or project experience is acceptable
