JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a hands-on API / Platform Architect to lead the design and implementation of a next-generation API Gateway and microservices architecture for a leading insurance organization in KSA.
This role is central to a large-scale transformation from monolithic systems to a microservices-based platform, with a strong focus on API governance, scalability, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement API-first architecture and API Gateway strategy (e.g., InsureMO, MuleSoft, Apigee, etc.)
- Lead end-to-end architecture for microservices-based platforms
- Define and enforce API governance, versioning, security, and lifecycle management
- Architect solutions for:
- Logging, observability, monitoring, and failure handling
- Scalability, resilience, and performance
- Drive monolith → microservices transformation, including:
- Service decomposition
- Data strategy
- Integration patterns
- Act as a technical leader, clearly articulating architectural decisions and guiding engineering teams
What We’re Looking For
Core (Must-Have)
- 10–18+ years in solution / platform architecture
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- API design & API Gateway architecture
- Microservices and distributed systems
- Cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Proven experience designing:
- observability (logging, tracing, monitoring)
- resilient and scalable systems
- Ability to:
- clearly explain architecture decisions
- defend trade-offs and design choices
- take ownership of architectural direction
Good to Have
- Experience in insurance or BFSI domain
- Exposure to InsureMO or similar API platforms
- Experience in KSA / GCC markets
