Role Description
This is a remote contract role for an AP Biology Tutor. The tutor will be responsible for providing online instruction to high school students preparing for Advanced Placement Biology exams. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, explaining complex biology concepts, assisting with assignments, conducting practice exams, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals. Additionally, fostering clear communication and providing a positive and supportive learning environment will be key aspects of the role.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in teaching Biology, with a strong understanding of AP-level topics
- Experience in Online Tutoring and creating interactive virtual learning experiences
- Effective Communication and interpersonal skills to engage students effectively
- Familiarity with tutoring techniques and strategies, as well as basic knowledge of Mathematics
- Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage time effectively in a remote setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus
- Previous experience with AP curriculum and standardized testing is an advantage
