Role Description The AOI Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division. In this position, the technician will operate and monitor Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to ensure the quality of printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies. Daily tasks include setting up AOI programs, performing inspections, validating defects, and collaborating with production and quality teams to resolve issues. The AOI Technician will document inspection results, support root-cause analysis of recurring defects, and help maintain equipment performance through routine checks and basic troubleshooting. The role also involves following safety and quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and communicating clearly with supervisors and peers regarding production status and quality concerns.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of AOI equipment operation, basic programming, and inspection workflows for electronic assemblies.
- Experience with electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT, PCB handling, and interpretation of assembly drawings and work instructions.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, validate, and classify defects and support root-cause analysis.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with visual inspection data, images, and reports in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to follow standardized procedures, quality guidelines, and safety protocols consistently.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams, and to document findings clearly.
- Basic computer literacy for using AOI software, production systems, and reporting tools.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field; prior AOI or test technician experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in the Pune Division and to adapt to shift schedules as required by production needs.
