Animal Husbandry Trainee – Advanced (2 Positions)

We are hiring 2 Animal Husbandry Trainees (Advanced) for our zebrafish facility. This is a hands-on, career-building role designed for candidates who want to develop into skilled zebrafish animal husbandry technicians with research exposure.
Role OverviewThis position focuses on zebrafish husbandry and research support, with structured training in:
- Daily system operations (RAS)
- Fish care and lifecycle management
- Disease identification, diagnosis, and treatment
Compensation & Structure- Stipend: ₹10,000/month
- Performance Incentive: ₹3,000/month (paid quarterly based on performance)
- Schedule: Mon–Sat | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Location: On-site (Turbhe, Navi Mumbai)
Training & Career DevelopmentCandidates will undergo a structured 3-stage training program:
Stage 1 (0–4 months): Basics of Zebrafish- RAS (Recirculatory Aquaculture System) operations
- Water quality & system maintenance
- Basic fish care
Stage 2 (4–8 months): Rearing Skills- Embryo handling to adulthood
- Breeding and lifecycle management
- Survival optimization
Stage 3 (8–12 months): Advanced Husbandry & Disease- Disease identification & management
- Introduction to disease models
- Treatment protocols
- Each stage is a minimum of 4 months
- Total probation: 12 months (extendable up to 18 months)
- Quarterly Qualification Tests will assess progress
Additional Training Support- Candidates will receive 1 sponsored external training per year in:
- Fish disease diagnosis
- Treatment and management
Performance & Growth OutcomeAfter successful completion of training:
- 1 candidate will be absorbed into Zebrafish India
- 1 candidate will be placed with a client
- Salary: ₹18,000/month + perks
Eligibility & Preference- BSc / MSc (Biology / Fisheries / Life Sciences)
- Preference for BSc graduates
- Preference for highly motivated and deserving candidates committed to building a long-term career in animal husbandry and research
- Immediate joiners only (must join within 7 days)
Important Notes- Outstation candidates must arrange their own accommodation
- If the candidate does not complete the probation period, no experience certificate will be issued
