Role Description The Anesthesiology Resident will work full time on-site at Prakriya Hospitals in Bengaluru, providing perioperative anesthetic care under supervision for patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. Daily responsibilities include pre-anesthesia assessment, preparation of equipment and medications, administration and monitoring of anesthesia, and participation in post-anesthesia care and pain management. The resident will assist in managing critically ill patients in intensive care settings, support emergency and trauma services, and respond to anesthesia-related consultations. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation, following hospital protocols and safety standards, participating in academic activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and develop professional competence in anesthesiology.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine, including clinical examination, diagnosis, and patient management skills.
- Core competencies in Anesthesiology, such as preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative care.
- Skills in Pain Management, including acute and postoperative pain control and familiarity with analgesic techniques.
- Exposure to Surgery and perioperative care, with the ability to work effectively with surgical teams in the operating room.
- Experience or training in Critical Care Medicine, including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency response.
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution and enrollment in or eligibility for an Anesthesiology residency or equivalent postgraduate program.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, infection control, and adherence to ethical and professional standards.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to work in high-pressure clinical environments.
- Willingness to participate in academic teaching, clinical audits, and continuous professional development activities.
