About the role

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. The Vehicle Autonomy (Robotics) team at Anduril develops aerial and ground-based robotic systems. The team is responsible for taking products like Ghost, Anvil, Altius, and our Sentry Tower from paper sketches to operational systems. We work in close coordination with specialist teams like Perception, Autonomy, and Manufacturing to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers, roboticists, and full-stack and mobile developers who are excited about creating a powerful robotics platform that can be tasked and viewed in real-time through a variety of interfaces. We are looking for DevOps and Infrastructure engineers to join our team. As a DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer at Anduril you will be architecting and building out tooling to scale the development of user interface applications on a variety of platforms (e.g., Windows, Linux, Android, Web), improve developer experience, and facilitate deployment of reliable software. You will be working with a variety of engineers with diverse background, and as an early member of the team, your decisions will have a large impact on the company today and into the future. What You’ll Do Lead the development and implementation of robust, modern DevOps strategies, practices, and tools for user interface applications on desktop, mobile, and web. Design, build, deploy, and manage tooling for internal development of user interface and autonomy software to speed up manual aspects of the development process. Design, build, deploy, and manage automated testing frameworks, tooling, documentation, and processes to facilitate user interface testing from backend to frontend including simulation infrastructure. Implement automation jobs and workflows in continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for producing build artifacts in clean environments, executing test automation, generating build/test logs, and distributing artifacts to internal repositories. Mentor and guide team members in applying DevOps methodologies and best practices while evaluating emerging technologies to ensure the team stays current with industry standards. Work directly with DevOps and infrastructure technologies such as Bash, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab-CI, GitHub Actions. Work directly with software build system technologies such as NixOS, gradle, CMake, npm. Work directly with test automation technologies such as CTest, GoogleTest, MSTest, Moq, JUnit, Espresso, Mokito, Jest, Mocha. Work alongside engineers using multiple full stack technologies for developing desktop (C++/Qt, C#/.NET), mobile (Java/Kotlin/Android), and web (TypeScript/React) applications. Required Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Engineering another related technical degree. Proficiency with scripting languages and including Bash, PowerShell, Python and common file formats including XML, JSON, YAML, TOML. Proficiency working in a Linux environment, familiarity working in a Windows environment, and/or exposure working in a NixOS environment. Familiarity with client/server networking technologies and relationships such as TCP/UDP/Multicast, HTTP (REST), or protobuf/gRPC. Familiarity developing software for user interface applications, especially high-traffic, data-intensive, or map-based systems. Proven ability to empathize with developers’ needs, facilitate low-friction processes into their daily development cycle, and improve software product reliability through robust testing and tooling. U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data. Additional Beneficial Qualifications Experience working with the DoD where safety is paramount, regulations must be balanced, and operational environments are tightly controlled. Experience in a startup or small company working environment where deadlines are tight, requirements are open-ended, and the teams are often fewer than 10 people. Experience with 3D geospatial analysis and mapping software such as ArcGIS, Cesium, MapBox, or TAK. Experience developing user interface software that does not require Internet access or has local/offline functionality. Exposure to technologies related to Anduril products such as UAV control, mesh networking, and launch systems.
