About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Malware Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team at LTM. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing complex Android malware threats, reverse engineering malicious applications, and developing strategies to detect and mitigate emerging threats. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and security assessments, with a particular focus on Android platforms. Your expertise will contribute to strengthening our security posture and safeguarding our clients' digital environments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in security assessments, threat modeling, and malware analysis is essential. Candidates should have a proven track record in reverse engineering, security design reviews, and software development. Proficiency with advanced reversing tools such as IDA Pro and Ghidra, along with the ability to analyze obfuscated code and custom cryptographic routines, is highly desirable. Experience with Android reverse engineering (APK, DEX), malware analysis, and threat detection is required. Strong understanding of ARM architecture, Android application development in C/C++ and Java, and familiarity with automated analysis tools are also important. Additionally, scripting skills in Python and knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, and network security will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed second-level reviews of complex malware threats and conduct comprehensive security analysis on a high volume of Android applications.
- Engage in reverse engineering of malicious code, analyzing malware at scale to identify malicious behaviors and tactics.
- Document all findings meticulously, ensuring reports are clear, concise, and useful for tracking and remediation efforts.
- Promote secure development practices by advocating for security-first approaches within the organization and among clients.
- Conduct ongoing research to identify new and emerging attack vectors targeting Android platforms.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance understanding of malware threats, develop detection techniques, and improve mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and train junior team members, leading knowledge-sharing sessions to foster skill development across the team.
