About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our Engineering Group, focusing on developing and implementing security mitigation features within our software stack. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android OS, Linux kernel internals, and embedded programming. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to analyze security reviews, design secure solutions, and develop tools to detect vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the security posture of Qualcomm’s products by integrating mitigation strategies at both kernel and user space levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the security of next-generation mobile and embedded systems, working on innovative projects that impact millions of devices worldwide.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from a reputed institution, with a strong academic record. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in software engineering, with expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python. Experience with Android OS, Linux kernel internals, and embedded systems is essential. Knowledge of security extensions like ARMv8/ARMv9, fuzzing tools, and device driver development is highly desirable. A solid understanding of security principles, vulnerability detection, and mitigation techniques is critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include developing security mitigation features at both kernel and user space levels, ensuring robust protection against vulnerabilities. The engineer will analyze security design reviews, collaborate with technical teams to understand security requirements, and propose alternative design solutions when necessary. Developing automation tools using scripting languages such as Python or Bash to streamline security testing and vulnerability detection is part of the role. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to independently drive feature development, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous security improvements across Qualcomm’s platforms. Staying updated with the latest security trends and tools to proactively identify and address potential threats is essential.
