About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our Software Engineering team at Qualcomm India Private Limited. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing security mitigation features at both kernel and user space levels. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to understand security design reviews and contribute innovative solutions to enhance device security. The candidate will play a vital role in identifying vulnerabilities, developing detection tools, and ensuring the robustness of our security framework. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from a reputed institution with a strong academic record. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in software engineering or related areas. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python is essential, along with a solid understanding of Linux kernel internals and Android OS architecture. Experience with security features like SE Linux, ARMv8/ARMv9 security extensions, and fuzzing tools is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to independently drive features and resolve issues, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include developing security mitigation features at both kernel and user space levels, ensuring the integrity and security of devices. The candidate will analyze security design reviews, provide alternative design solutions, and work with cross-functional teams to implement robust security measures. Developing automation tools using Python or Bash to streamline vulnerability detection and security testing processes is also part of the role. Additionally, the engineer will stay updated on the latest security threats, contribute to security documentation, and participate in code reviews to uphold high-security standards. The role requires independently managing features and resolving complex security issues, contributing to the continuous improvement of Qualcomm’s security architecture.
