About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer specializing in Base Software Over-the-Air (OTA) updates and diagnostics within the Automotive Software domain. This role is integral to Stellantis’ Product Development and Technology Group (PDT), focusing on developing next-generation vehicle controllers across various domains such as autonomous driving, body, powertrain, cluster, and infotainment. The successful candidate will lead the design, development, and implementation of OTA and diagnostics platform application software, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient updates over the vehicle’s lifecycle. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative automotive software solutions that will shape the future of mobility, requiring a deep understanding of embedded systems, communication protocols, and real-time software development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field. They should have between 5 to 8 years of experience in automotive software validation and development, with a strong background in OTA software, diagnostics, and embedded systems. Proven experience working with automotive ECUs and embedded platforms is essential. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in C++, QNX, Linux, Android, and related operating systems, along with familiarity with vehicle communication protocols and network security principles. Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, and excellent communication abilities are required to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of OTA software update features, diagnostics, and cloud connectivity solutions for automotive ECUs.
- Design and develop secure, robust, and scalable embedded software solutions adhering to automotive safety and security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, cybersecurity, and cloud services to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Translate system-level requirements into high-quality, production-ready code, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including debugging, performance optimization, and validation of software features.
- Maintain and improve existing OTA and diagnostic platforms, incorporating feedback and new technological advancements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging protocols, and best practices to continuously enhance software quality and security.
- Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
