About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Android Malware Lead Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of Android applications to identify malicious behaviors, reverse engineering malware samples, and developing strategies to mitigate threats. Your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing our threat detection capabilities and providing actionable insights to safeguard our clients' mobile environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and security assessments, with a focus on Android platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex security challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of innovative security solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
- Proven expertise in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and software development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of threat identification, with the ability to accurately detect malicious code and classify various categories of malicious applications.
- Proficiency in reverse-engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and open-source utilities for malware assessment.
- Experience with Android reverse engineering, including APK and DEX analysis, malware analysis, and threat modeling.
- Knowledge of ARM architecture and Android application development in C/C++ and Java.
- Experience analyzing application behavior using automated tools and sandbox environments to identify malicious patterns.
- Strong understanding of security engineering principles, cryptography, network security, and security protocols.
- Automation and scripting skills, preferably in Python, to streamline analysis workflows.
- Ability to classify applications based on SOPs and known threat indicators effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform triage and comprehensive security analysis of complex Android applications (APKs) to identify malicious components.
- Conduct reverse engineering and malware analysis at scale to uncover hidden threats and malicious behaviors.
- Document analysis findings accurately and concisely, preparing detailed reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advocate for security best practices, secure coding standards, and proactive threat mitigation strategies within the organization.
- Research emerging attack vectors targeting Android platforms and develop strategies to defend against new threats.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance the understanding of Android malware, share insights, and improve detection methodologies.
- Develop and refine tools and scripts to automate malware detection and analysis processes.
- Participate in threat intelligence sharing and contribute to the development of organizational security policies.
