About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Android Malware Lead Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating malicious activities targeting Android applications. This position involves performing in-depth reverse engineering, malware analysis, and threat modeling to uncover sophisticated threats and vulnerabilities. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust security measures, enhance our threat detection capabilities, and contribute to research initiatives aimed at understanding emerging malware trends. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex security challenges in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your technical expertise to protect our clients' digital assets.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Extensive experience, ranging from 10 to 15 years, in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling is essential. Proven expertise in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and software development is required. Familiarity with industry-standard reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro and Ghidra, along with open-source utilities, is highly preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Android reverse engineering (APK, DEX), ARM architecture, and Android application development in C/C++ and Java. Strong analytical skills, experience with automated analysis tools, sandbox environments, and scripting in Python will be advantageous. A comprehensive knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, and network security principles is also necessary.
Responsibilities
- Conduct triage and detailed security analysis of complex Android applications (APKs), including identifying malicious code and behaviors.
- Perform reverse engineering and malware analysis at scale to uncover sophisticated threats.
- Document all findings accurately, clearly, and concisely to support reporting and decision-making processes.
- Promote security best practices and advocate for secure coding standards within development teams.
- Research emerging attack vectors and vulnerabilities specific to Android platforms to stay ahead of evolving threats.
- Collaborate with team members to improve Android security measures, threat detection techniques, and incident response protocols.
- Develop and refine automated tools and scripts to streamline malware detection and analysis workflows.
- Classify applications based on predefined SOPs and known threat indicators to facilitate rapid response.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing to junior analysts to build a resilient security team.
