Position Summary: Inventory and Quality Control Coordinator supports daily warehouse operations for a commercial subcontractor manufacturing shop. This role is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, organizing, and shipping building materials, tools, and equipment. This role will support managing accurate flow, tracking, and availability of materials in the shop. This role will interface with managers, including manufacturing, engineering, and accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to handle the physical and logistical demands of a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position reporting to the Plant Manager. Typical Monday-Friday schedule (overtime and occasional weekends based on project schedules).
- Maintain regular communication with Plant Manager regarding material flow, inventory status, and warehouse operations.
- Receive and inspect all incoming materials, verifying accuracy against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documentation.
- Verify that materials received align with detail drawings, die profiles and are free of vendor defects.
- Maintain accurate logs and document all received materials in accordance with established inventory and tracking procedures. Interface with accounting and operations on updates and necessary procedures.
- Maintain organized and complete shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring timely submission and proper record retention.
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of materials, following all handling and safety guidelines.
- Perform scheduled cycle counts; investigate, document, and communicate inventory discrepancies.
- Effectively communicate with shop personnel, field crews, project managers, department managers, and office staff to support material needs and resolve issues.
- Track and document material locations, including items picked, returned, transferred, or relocated within the facility.
- Attend required meetings and provide inventory or shipping updates as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment.
- Follow company safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment.
- Standard hours with possible overtime based on project demands.
- Other tasks or duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification required.
- Reliable Transportation and Valid Driver’s License.
- Authorized to Work in the U.S.
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs and handle heavy or bulky materials.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English sufficiently to follow safety instructions and perform job duties.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse or inventory management systems.
Experience and Qualities:
- 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or construction materials environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive, safety-first attitude.
