Data Scientist – NLP & Recommendation Systems

We partner with our clients as their dedicated, fully-managed, onshore teams to accelerate their product development. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our internal Andela Technology team. You will be responsible for building and deploying machine learning models to power natural language processing and recommendation systems that enhance the Andela platform experience for our clients, candidates, and internal teams. What you'll do: - Develop state-of-the-art NLP models to automate the analysis, classification, and extraction of insights from unstructured data sources like job descriptions, candidate profiles, and client feedback. - Build recommendation engines to personalize the job matching and engagement experience for candidates and clients. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, build, and iterate on data-driven products and features. - Continuously monitor model performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimizations. - Document your work, share learnings, and contribute to the growth of Andela's data science capabilities. What you'll need: - 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong background in natural language processing and recommendation systems. - Proficiency in Python, including libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow/PyTorch. - Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art NLP techniques like transformer models, sequence labeling, and text generation. - Familiarity with building and deploying production-ready machine learning models. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions. - Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience working in an agile environment and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
