About Team
The Cost Analytics team supports all analytical and data requirements that supports the accounting function – specifically Margin & Cost, Vendor Funding, Imports, Trade Payables and Transporation Accounting. Leveraging firm’s tech stack, the team works on varied problem statement and help in providing an optimum solution to end users
Job Summary
The Manager leads a team supporting the accounting function for Lowe’s US operations by designing, developing, and delivering business intelligence and data-driven analytics solutions. This role partners closely with business and finance leadership to provide actionable insights to the COA office, enabling informed decision-making around inventory, revenue, and margin.
The position focuses on leveraging financial data through advanced analytics, automation, and scalable solution development using tools such as SQL, Teradata, Excel/Access with VBA, Python, and ETL platforms (Alteryx/KNIME), along with modern data platforms like Hadoop and Google Cloud. A key objective is to enhance reporting capabilities, streamline processes, and build custom tools for end users.
The Manager is responsible for translating complex data into meaningful insights, driving analytical best practices, and leading a team to deliver high-impact solutions while ensuring accuracy and alignment with both operational and financial reporting needs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Partner with domain leaders to understand the requirements and deliver right set of solutions
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts and developers
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data literacy
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all reporting platforms
- Present insights and findings to stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Create solutions addressing the specific challenge using various tools
- Create and maintain documentation of processes
- Act as a consultant to end users for recommendation on tools and technical feasibility
- Guide the team in key business knowledge areas and technical architecture
- Work alloction and delivery management with maintaining high accuracy of all reports and analysis
- Drive initiatives aimed at bringing in innovative ideas to current processes
Years of Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in the domain of Reporting & Analytics
- 3+ years of experience in leadership/managerial role
Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Engineering or Business Intelligence
- Post Graduate in Finance/ Business Analytics will be an added advantage
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across locations.
Skill Set Required
Primary Skills (must have)
- Advanced expertise in SQL and strong experience with relational and distributed data platforms (Teradata, IBM DB2, Hadoop, Google Cloud Platform), with demonstrated ability to design, optimize, and manage large-scale data solutions
- Proficiency in either (a) advanced Excel/Access with VBA-driven solutions or (b) Python-based analytics (Pandas, NumPy, PyODBC, datetime), primarily leveraged for automation and the development of custom tools and scalable solutions for end users
- Hands-on experience with ETL and data transformation tools (e.g., Alteryx, KNIME,SSIS), enabling efficient data integration and pipeline development
- Proven experience in leading efficiency initiatives that drive operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance data reliability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver solutions to complex, high-impact business problems
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project leadership skills, with experience driving cross-functional initiatives and influencing decision-making
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing teams, overseeing performance and career growth, and leading high-performing teams aligned to business objectives
Secondary Skills (desired)
- Deep understanding of financial and accounting data, with a proven track record of translating complex data into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms, preferably Power BI
