We are seeking a hands-on Business Intelligence and Data Analytics professional to support the Credit Risk function by owning data preparation, building high-quality reporting, and automating repeatable workflows that support timely and accurate risk monitoring.
The role is anchored around three core pillars. Data fundamentals: a strong understanding of data structures, normalization, controls, and data quality. Reporting and analytics: hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining reports and dashboards (advanced Excel is required; Power BI experience is a strong plus). Automation: practical experience using Python and Power Automate to reduce manual processes and scale recurring reporting, with SharePoint exposure as a plus. Prior experience in financial services or investment management is highly desirable and would meaningfully complement the existing Credit Risk team in India.
Job Purpose
Cerberus Capital Management (CCM) is building a dynamic department focused on Credit Risk. The team is responsible for firm-wide macro and micro market risk monitoring, covenant testing for financing facilities, liquidity risk management, counterparty exposure oversight, and comprehensive reporting across financing structures, including margin accounts and subscription lines of credit.
As an Analyst/Associate within the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics function, this role expands beyond report production to include data governance, automation, and operational resilience. The individual will help standardize data inputs, document reporting logic, improve control frameworks, and support scalable reporting solutions used by investment professionals and senior leadership.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, concentrations, and emerging risks relevant to credit risk and financing activities.
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end reporting solutions using Excel and Power BI, including data sourcing, transformation, validation, and presentation layers.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows using Python and Power Automate to improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and support repeatable reporting cycles.
- Support data governance efforts by documenting data sources, assumptions, calculations, and report logic.
- Partner closely with credit risk, finance, and investment teams to translate business questions into scalable analytical and reporting solutions.
- Present insights in a clear and structured manner tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and exception analysis to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports.
- Continuously enhance existing dashboards and reports to reflect evolving business needs and new risk metrics.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 2–6 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting-focused roles.
- Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience building reports and dashboards; Power BI experience strongly preferred.
- Practical experience using Python and Power Automate for data processing and automation.
- Strong understanding of data structures, normalization, data quality, and reporting controls.
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders and convert ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable analytical outputs.
- Prior experience in financial services, investment management, or a related domain is a strong plus.
