Amsted Rail in Chicago, Illinois is seeking a Corporate Intern starting in May will offer a dynamic 10-week experience at our Chicago Corporate headquarters. The intern will rotate through five key business areas—International, Marketing, Strategy, and Supply Chain, completing focused 2-week projects in each. This program is designed to provide hands-on exposure to corporate operations, support organizational goals, and foster professional growth in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
What you will do:
- Participate in structured 2-week projects across Learning & Development, International, Marketing, Strategy, and Supply Chain departments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing initiatives and deliver project outcomes
- Conduct research, analyze data, and present findings to department leaders
- Assist in developing training materials and supporting employee development programs
- Contribute to international business projects and market analysis
- Support marketing campaigns and strategy development
- Assist in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting tasks
- Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project results
- Attend meetings, workshops, and networking events to enhance business acumen
- Complete assigned tasks within deadlines and maintain high standards of professionalism
Requirements:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, International Relations, or related field
- Experience: No prior corporate experience required; relevant coursework or extracurricular involvement preferred
- Skills & Competencies: Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Working Conditions: Office environment at Chicago Corporate headquarters, standard business hours, exposure to a fast-paced, collaborative corporate setting, some travel to other company locations during the summer
What we offer you:
- Summer interns generally start between $20.00 - $24.00
- Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, prior experience and year you graduate
