This role requires a balance of client relationship management, operational oversight, and strategic thinking to ensure services are delivered efficiently and aligned with evolving client business needs.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will serve as the Oracle HCM Lead within the Application Managed Services (AMS) team, providing functional leadership and end-to-end support across the client’s Oracle HCM environment. The role is responsible for overseeing complex support issues, solution design, enhancements, production changes, and continuous improvement initiatives while providing guidance and quality oversight to the broader HCM support team.
The HCM Lead will work closely with client stakeholders, Service Delivery Management, functional consultants, technical teams, and Oracle Support to ensure solutions are scalable, aligned with Oracle best practices, and consistent with the client’s overall HCM architecture and business objectives.
- Provide L2/L3 functional leadership across Oracle HCM, serving as the escalation point for complex production issues, service requests, and enhancements.
- Support Oracle HCM modules including Core HR, Talent Management, Payroll, Benefits, Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC), and Oracle Time and Labor (OTL).
- Lead and oversee solution design and architecture for HCM configurations, enhancements, integrations, reports, security changes, and application improvements.
- Review solutions, configurations, Fast Formulas, testing approaches, and deployment plans to ensure quality and alignment with Oracle best practices.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex or recurring issues, coordinating functional and technical resources through resolution.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to HCM AMS consultants, including work review, mentoring, and support for complex delivery challenges.
- Partner with the Service Delivery Manager to manage backlog, priorities, aging, SLA performance, risks, resource needs, and upcoming client priorities.
- Lead the scoping and estimation of enhancements and help determine when larger initiatives should transition to project-based delivery.
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, technical debt reduction, and continuous improvement across the HCM environment.
- Support Oracle quarterly release assessments, including impact analysis, regression testing, recommended functionality, and adoption opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to incident, problem, change, testing, documentation, approval, and deployment processes within the AMS operating model.
- Serve as the HCM subject matter lead in client discussions, clearly communicating issues, risks, recommendations, solution options, and roadmap opportunities.
Required Experience & Skills
- 15 years of experience in Oracle HCM Cloud support or implementation projects.
- Hands-on experience in application support, AMS, or post-go-live support environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a client-facing support environment.
- Alignment with delivery values: Can-Do attitude, teamwork, ownership, and client focus.
- Willingness to work in a shift-based support model as required.
Additional Desired Skills
- Experience across Oracle HCM and related modules.
- Certifications in Human Capital Management (HCM) and associated HCM modules.
