About the role
A Material Handler performs manual and clerical duties related to storing, issuing, and delivering materials and supplies and movement of product between Production departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute standard work with support from others on complex tasks.
- Operate value stream workstation.
- Issues, delivers, and moves material for the production of company products with a minimum of dependence.
- Stores materials in bins, in racks, or on shelves according to identifying information with a minimum of dependence.
- Operates material handling equipment such as powered industrial trucks, pallets jacks, etc., as trained, to assist in the issuing, storage, and movement of materials with a minimum of dependence.
- Executes standard work with a good degree of quality and limited quality discrepancies, showing a trend of improvement.
- Execute standard work efficiently with support from others on complex tasks.
- Identifies problems in execution of standard work and requests help from others on resolution.
Requirements:
- Standing, Stooping, Kneeling, and Walking.
- Occasional standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting (regularly up to 50 lbs).
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
- Frequent standing, lifting, and walking with up to 50 lbs.
- Most work completed at a work bench or station.
- 6 months of Receiving and Shipping experience, high school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Basic computer literacy using Microsoft Windows.
- Basic math skills and ability to use basic measurement equipment (ruler, scale, calipers, tape measure).
