Job Purpose:

The Inventory Control Clerk / Putaways is responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, primarily in the assembly departments, and rack locations.  Requires the ability to solve both short-term issues (e.g. correcting on-hand quantity) and long-term issues (e.g. what causes specific problems?). They will be required to identify, count and label putaway pallets during changeovers.  This requires interaction with material handlers, supervisors, quality, leads, and production workers.  This position will report directly to the Materials Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify parts using drawing and measurements.
  • Utilize and JDE system and learn Oracle for upcoming transition.
  • Responsible for auditing pallet quantities and part numbers for accuracy.
  • Print and read drawing using engineering system.
  • Access and read picking lists.
  • Validates on-hand inventories for putaways.
  • Print pallet labels using RFGen and RFSmart scanners.
  • Work with Quality Control to ensure that scrap transactions are performed in a timely manner on non-performing raw material.
  • Work with supervisors to ensure value stream inventory is being managed properly of materials made against completion of Work Orders.
  • Maintain the 5 Ss in all areas and work to make inventory processes better.
  • Scheduled overtime may be required,

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

Education/Experience: 

  • 1 – 3 years in inventory control mid-sized manufacturing required.
  • Previous JDE, Oracle or MRP system experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word is required.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail, and basic math and computer skills.
  • Candidates must have ability to analyze information and be process thinkers.
  • Work in a fast-paced, and high-pressure environment.
  • Able to bend and lift parts over 25 pounds,
  • Be a team player and adapt well to multitasking.
  • Position will involve learning all aspects of inventory flow to have a full understanding of production practices.
  • Flexibility to cover other inventory-related functions as needed to support production.
