Summary:
Join the American University School of International Service (SIS) as a Resident Assistant (RA) for our two-week Community of Scholars (CoS) pre-college program. Help high school students have an amazing campus experience! Previous RA experience is a plus, but all motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.
Essential Functions:
Be the go-to contact for about 10 students.
Keep students informed and engaged with program events.
Chaperone afternoon visits and evening activities.
Supervise free time and study periods.
Handle student concerns and emergencies.
Participate in weekend activities (July 11–12).
Rotate on-call shifts for mornings and nights.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time.
20 hours per week.

Required Education and Experience:
Current undergraduate or graduate student.
Strong communicator and team player.
Able to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
Leadership and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Training takes place on Zoom, Wednesday and Thursday, July 1 & 2.
In-person orientation, Saturday, July 4 (afternoon).
Housing and meals provided.
One evening off during the program.
