Director, Leadership Development and Volunteer Management

The Director, Leadership Development and Volunteer Management is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic, comprehensive, and customized volunteer management program that supports ASHA's mission and vision. This position serves as the key contact for volunteer engagement and leadership development across the organization, collaborating with staff and volunteer leaders to enhance the volunteer experience and maximize the impact of volunteer contributions. The Director will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of the volunteer life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, recognition, and retention. Key responsibilities include: • Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer management strategy, including innovative volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, recognition, and retention programs. • Partner with staff and volunteer leaders to strategically align volunteer activities with organizational priorities and goals. • Provide leadership and guidance to volunteer leaders, including members of the Board of Directors, Standing Committees, and Special Interest Groups. • Oversee the selection, training, and management of volunteer leaders, ensuring they have the knowledge, skills, and resources to be successful in their roles. • Facilitate ongoing communication and relationship-building between staff and volunteers. • Collect and analyze volunteer data to measure and report on the impact and effectiveness of volunteer engagement initiatives. • Promote a culture of volunteerism and serve as a subject matter expert on best practices in volunteer management. • Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and procedures related to volunteer engagement. • Perform other duties as assigned.
