American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking an Associate EDI Software Engineer to join our Information Technology department. This position will help analyze, develop, and maintain secure, health driven, software applications using the latest Microsoft technologies, in a large team environment. Hourly Salary Range American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $35.00 to $42.00 Hourly Wage Range. Remote Worker Considerations Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This remote/WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum internet download of 50 Mbps and 10 Mbps upload speed). Responsibilities Expands knowledge of Company operations particularly as related to assigned projects. Develops an understanding of assigned application and internal customer area, standards and techniques, and general business knowledge. Demonstrates understanding of departmental procedures, programming standards, and all pertinent training materials. Performs routine programming assignments under Manager's supervision. Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and fix current suite of software applications. Work independently with minimal supervision. Monitor applications and ensure automated processes run as expected. Responsible for surfacing all unexpected issues to Sr. leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in information systems or business degree or equivalent experience. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required. Experience in software development. Experience working with source control. Experience in researching and evaluating various solutions to determine the most efficient resolution to a problem. Understanding of object-oriented software design patterns and how to apply them. Understanding of relational database design and SQL. Understanding of web-based API's. Understanding of Agile/Scum practices. Basic understanding of Containerization. Collaborate with team in problem solving and algorithm design. Ability to test data API endpoints. Ability to participate in daily meetings and comfortable contributing in group programming sessions lasting more than three hours on-line. Passion and curiosity for learning. Not afraid to ask questions. Passion for ownership and ability to empathize with customers.
