JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is located in and will be reporting out of Columbus, OH.
Position Title: IT Business Analyst Intern
Reports To: Assistant Vice President, Innovation & Transformation
Essential Functions:
1. Assist in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements by conducting stakeholder interviews, facilitating workshops, and analyzing existing systems and processes across various departments.
2. Support business process mapping and gap analysis efforts, with a focus on IT systems and workflows, helping to identify inefficiencies and recommend technology-driven improvements aligned with organizational goals.
3. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including business requirements documents, use cases, and process flow diagrams.
4. Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to support IT project decision-making, track system and project metrics, and present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.
5. Stay updated with IT industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business analysis to contribute insights and support continuous improvement of IT systems and services.
6. Research industry changes, operational challenges, and technology developments in the electric utility industry to inform business strategy and planning.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
1. Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
2. Must have experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office suite, and IT systems; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
3. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business and technical needs into clear requirements.
4. Must work well in both team and individualized tasks.
5. Must possess initiative and the ability to learn quickly.
6. Must possess the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
7. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
