Function Description: Global Merchant Services is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Insights & Analytics aims to provide best in class analytics to support key GMS priorities, support strategic initiatives, optimize investments, accelerate merchant activation enhancing the value Amex acceptance brings to merchants and Card Members at scale. Merchant Marketing Analytics & Invest Optimization team provides data driven insights that inform Merchant marketing strategy through strategic data deep dives, targeting and measurement for all global market. This position will report to Manager, Merchant Marketing and Investment Optimization Analytics and will lead execution of the project engagement from problem definition, data analysis/interpretation to develop the storyline with the insights/recommendations. Our goal is setup Advanced Investment Optimization for GMS and achieve the following: 1) Setup consistent test & control, across campaigns/regions and translate behaviors into financial metrics, 2) build a centralized repository (dashboard) to enable a more automated and agile process and 3) enable data-driven decision-making to further optimize investment allocations and maximize business impact. Responsibilities: Candidate is required to quickly understand new data presented in front of them and make decisions based on logic, business understanding and data techniques Lead and provide the analytics, measurement and reporting across key performance indicators for the business for initiatives such as marketing measurement, SQP, investment planning & optimization. Elevate and bolster our analytical suite and work in partnership with Merchant Marketing team to setup consistent test & control, across campaigns/regions and translate behaviors into financial metrics. Enable data-driven decision-making to further optimize investment allocations and maximize business impact Support the delivery and presentation of monthly executive results package Lead the streamlining and automation of analytical tools to scale the production of custom analytical/ strategic deep dives and generate actionable insights Minimum Qualifications: Experience in marketing analytics preferred; relevant industry experience preferred Preferred 1-2 years of relevant experience with strong knowledge of skills like Python, Hive, SAS, SQL & Advanced Excel required. Experience with VBA / Tableau/Power BI is a plus Self-starter, ability to drive insights from data, provide action steps and drive results in a fast-paced environment Demonstrate thought leadership and accountability to own delivery end to end Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to drive results Degree in a quantitative field preferred – e.g. MBA; BSc/Msc Statistics, Bachelors/Masters in Economics
