COLD BOX OPERATOR
- Responsible for operating core machine, sand mixer, core oven, and ice blast as
instructed by supervision. Responsible for inspecting and cleaning cores; placing them on
pallets; transporting them with a forklift to a storage location or casting floor.
Responsible for cleaning the core machine and core boxes and changing core boxes as
instructed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications

Essential Physical Functions

maintenance/cleaning.

- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling are required cleaning and maintenance of the core machine.
- Overhead reach is required to rub fin off core and clean core machine.

- Bended reach is required to clean the machine, pick up tools, etc.
- Handling required to clean sand from striker, brush paint release onto core box to prevent sticking, grasp
handle to position release of sand into core maker, use lever on air hose, shovel sand during cleanup, use
air wrench, smooth sand, perform maintenance on core box, etc.
- Use of fingers required to push buttons, operate levers, clean machine, turn bolts during maintenance and
work sand while it pours into box.
- Feeling required to place bolts in core maker.
- Talking required for communication with co-workers and supervisors and to exchange
information/instruction.
- Seeing required for changing boxes, operating controls, evaluating core quality and working safely.
- Hearing required for quality, safety, and instruction.
- Lifting up to 30 pound maximum required while shoveling sand.

- Pushing and pulling required (with up to 10 pounds of force) on core machine four pouring; pushing
wheelbarrow containing sand (with up to 15 pounds of force) and dumping.
CORE MAKER COLD BOX
- Responsible for operating core machine and sand mixer and changing core boxes.

- Lifting up to 20 pounds maximum while shoveling sand, usually tools weighing 5 pounds or less.

- Pushing and pulling handle (with up to 10 pounds of force) on core machine to position for pouring;
pushing wheelbarrow containing sand (with up to 15 pounds of force) and dumping.
CUT BEVEL & GRINDER OPERATOR
- Required to cut pipe to specified lengths, bevel ends of pipe to specifications, and
gauge pipe to standard size. Must read and understand daily line-up.

DELAVAUD CORE TRANSFER - UNIT 0120
- Responsible for transporting cores to core storage and casting, helping core box changes,
and helping with machine clean up.

- Authorizes Casting Machine Operator to pour molten metal into pipe-making molds after skimming the metal.

- Talking required for communication with supervisor and co-workers.
- Vision required operating ladle, skim ladle, and safety.

- Lifting required of up to approx. 35 pounds for the skimmer, pry bar, etc. from floor to waist and up to shoulder height. Lifting up to 50 pounds for the bucket of blacking from floor to waist.
- Carrying required for up to 50 pounds for the bucket of blacking at a distance of approx. 15 yards two times per eight-hour shift.
- Pushing and pulling required to use pry bar to remove excess slag from ladle, and also while using skimmer of approx. 15 pounds of force.
BLAST MACHINE OPERATOR
- Operates console to control pipe aligner, pipe kick-out, infeed arms, pipe rotators, ID lance, OD lance car, blast cabinet doors, and extractor arms to blast the pipe clean of its lining and/or coating. Troubleshoots issues with machine and pipe as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), an acceptable level of vision and hearing is required in order to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner.
- Due to the need to visually inspect pipe for defects, must pass an annual vision test as administered by the Company.

- Sitting required in an office chair to operate blast machine.

- Climbing stairs required to access the magnetic separator and filter.

- Bended reach required to clean material screens.
- Handling required to roll pipe, operate blast machine, etc.
- Use of fingers required to operate controls, move pipe, move rubber flaps to clean out machine, etc.
- Talking required to communicate with supervisors and other employees.
- Seeing required for quality and safety.
- Hearing required for quality, communication, and safety. Listening for any specific warning sounds from the machine that could indicate an issue with the pipe being processed.
- Lifting required for bucket of blast media weighing 50 pounds maximum lifted from floor to waist. Lifting frequently required for items weighing lesser amounts of weight when cleaning debris from work area.
- Carrying required for bucket of blast media weighing up to 50 pounds for up to 40 feet to the hopper.
- Pushing and pulling required with up to 50 pounds force to roll pipe, etc.
PRROF TEST OPERATOR, #2, #3
- Process pipe through the proof test station using the correct pressure for the size and
wall thickness of the pipe being tested according to applicable specifications. The pipe
number will be entered for each test made.

- Lifting and carrying from floor to knee 50# pounds maximum (bucket of soap) required. Lifting and carrying from floor to waist gaskets average 30# pounds.
- Pushing/pulling with up to 50# pounds force required to roll pipe onto loading station. Also required to occasionally pull gaskets.
SHELL CORE MAKER AND FACER
- Operate automatic head core machines to make pipe head cores for deLavaud Shop. Black
and clean head cores and perform other necessary jobs in the core room.

- Stooping over 36" table to file core, to remove core from machine (at 38" - 42"), removing excess from
machine, changing core size, etc.
- Crouching for occasional machine repair.
- Overhead reach up to 66" for controls, assisting crane operator, etc.
- Forward reach for removing cores, filing cores, etc. Filing table 36".
- Bended reach to dip and hang cores on line at 26" and 42".
- Handling constantly required for filing cores, using hand tools, placing cores, dial controls, etc.
- Fingering for crane controls, tightening bolts during core change, push button controls, etc.
- Hearing and vision for quality and safety as well as aligning to change core size. Talking required with
supervision and coworkers.
- Lifting 35# maximum cores.
- Carrying 50# core boxes maximum 2 - 3 times a day.; carrying 35# maximum cores.
- Pushing/pulling with up to 60# force to align core size changes. Minimal force (up to 10#) required to
remove some cores from machine.

PLASMA/BEVELLAR OPERATOR #2
- Required to process pipe cutting and beveling of spigot to correct specifications and
dimensions.
