About the role

We're looking for a hands-on Business Analyst to join our Strategic Finance Team! ABOUT AMBOSS AMBOSS is a learning and clinical decision support tool striving to empower physicians across the globe to provide the best possible care. Our founders set out in 2011 to create a tool that they would have hoped to have as medical students and doctors. Since then we have grown to currently operate in 180 countries and have gained immense traction in Germany and the US. Currently, we are pursuing this mission with more than 500+ employees in our offices in Berlin, Cologne, New York, and Cagliari. WHY CAN THIS POSITION BE EXCITING FOR YOU? Join our Strategic Finance team at AMBOSS, where you'll be part of a dynamic, tight-knit group that sits at the heart of the organization. As a Business Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting strategic decisions by partnering closely with commercial market leads and other stakeholders across departments. You will work closely with the Director of Finance, George and Senior Business Analyst, Simon on variable projects: from deep-dive market and performance analyses to commercial planning and corporate finance initiatives like fundraising and M&A, your work will have a tangible impact. You'll collaborate closely with our Data team to build robust, scalable insights and data models, ensuring decision-makers have access to high-quality, actionable information. With a wide variety of projects, a strong support system, and the freedom to explore your own solutions, this role offers both challenge and opportunity in equal measure. YOU WILL: - Business Insights: Act as the go-to person for business insights for your market — uncover trends, explain variances, and forecast performance through thoughtful, in-depth analysis. - Corporate Finance: Play a key role in supporting the company's financial future by contributing to upcoming fundraising initiatives. Support the preparation of materials and insights for quarterly board meetings, and deliver strategic analyses to assess and facilitate potential M&A transactions. - Revenue Analytics: help elevate the quality of our revenue data. Work hand-in-hand with the Shop and Accounting teams to streamline data flows, align revenue sources, and uncover insights that drive smarter decisions and sustainable growth. - Budgeting and Reporting: Be an integral part of the annual business planning and quarterly reviews to help shape and inform company-wide goal-setting and business-critical decision-making. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with key teams, especially Commercial, Marketing, Sales, R&D, and HR. Act as a trusted sparring partner in their decision-making by delivering clear, data-backed insights that drive impact and alignment. - Data Infrastructure & Accessibility: Work very closely with our data team and help shape how data powers decisions at AMBOSS by being a part of designing clean, reliable data models with dbt. Turn complexity into clarity by creating user-friendly dashboards and self-serve analytics tools in Looker, helping stakeholders uncover insights when and where they need them.
