About the role
The Network Operations Center (NOC) serves as the central hub for monitoring and managing transportation execution across Amazon's extensive supply chain network, encompassing regions such as North America, India, and Europe. The NOC's primary function is to ensure the seamless and timely movement of freight, from vendor locations to Amazon fulfillment centers (FCs) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. In the event of any disruptions or exceptions, the NOC team intervenes to resolve the issues promptly, keeping all relevant stakeholders informed of the progress and resolution.
Beyond tactical problem-solving, the NOC is also responsible for identifying trends in network exceptions. This involves a detailed analysis of network data, which is then used to automate processes or propose modifications to existing processes to optimize operational efficiency. Network monitoring and data analysis are critical components of this function. Overall, the NOC plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of Amazon's transportation network, directly impacting the company's ability to meet its customer delivery commitments.
In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate with business and operations teams to address customer escalations, conduct in-depth analysis of historical performance data, and initiate targeted improvement programs, all within a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. A key responsibility will be to enhance the visibility tools, methodologies, and processes employed by the team. This enhancement will aim to improve the accessibility and granularity of actionable data available to both internal and external partners.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership in resolving customer issues and will proactively develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process changes as needed. They will possess a passion for their work, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving capabilities. Strong communication and customer relationship management skills are essential, as is the ability to provide insightful analysis and advocate effectively for the customer with other stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to drive the development of simple and scalable solutions to complex challenges, and will also possess excellent project management skills.
