Software Engineer - Cradle Platform

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Cradle Platform team. The Cradle Platform is a critical data processing platform that powers many mission-critical data workflows across Amazon. As a Software Engineer on the Cradle team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core components of the Cradle Platform. This includes building scalable and reliable data processing pipelines, integrating with various data sources and storage systems, and ensuring the overall stability and performance of the platform. Responsibilities: - Design and develop new features and functionality for the Cradle Platform - Implement and maintain highly scalable and fault-tolerant data processing pipelines - Integrate Cradle with various data sources, storage systems, and other AWS services - Optimize the performance and reliability of the Cradle Platform - Participate in on-call rotations and incident response - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of the Cradle Platform Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on building scalable and reliable distributed systems - Proficient in Java, Scala, or Python, and experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop) - Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and deployment - Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, is a plus - Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
