Director, Product Management
Job Description
Define and evolve our core Payment Acceptance capabilities within Outpayce to better serve customer verticals and Amadeus’s various business lines.
In a nutshell:
Product Strategy, Roadmap and Priorities Definition
- Lead the end-to-end (E2E) product lifecycle for new and existing products—from strategy and portfolio management through roadmap delivery—aligning stakeholders across domains and ensuring governance.
- Define the Payment Acceptance vision and multi-year plan aligned with Outpayce’s business strategy and with FinHub and vertical strategies; develop deep understanding of customer and market trends and the competitive landscape; evaluate and prioritize enhancements based on customer needs, research, risk, and business cases (including make/buy/partner), acting as Business Owner in Outpayce Agile Release Trains.
Work with Research and Development (R&D) and Implementation
- Partner with Outpayce Research and Development (R&D) teams to prioritize and deliver product enhancements using Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban); oversee releases to ensure end-to-end solution consistency and coordinate impacts with other Product Domains and Delivery and Implementation teams.
Product Readiness and Go-to-Market
- Collaborate with Product Marketing on go-to-market strategy and deployment plans for minimum viable product (MVP) pilots and full solution launches; coordinate product readiness with Legal, Operations, Finance, and Customer Care; monitor post-launch health metrics (e.g., booking volumes), address production issues, gather customer feedback, and adjust the roadmap as needed.
Team Management and Development
- Lead and coach a team of five Product Managers and Product Owners on prioritization, discovery, and decision-making; foster collaboration; set clear objectives and expectations; provide constructive feedback; address performance challenges; create personal development plans and hold at least three follow-up sessions per year; measure outcomes using department key performance indicators (KPIs) across prioritization, execution, and post-launch monitoring.
Requirements
Skills and knowledge
- Business understanding of the travel industry, payments, and merchant capabilities; ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences; experience operating effectively in matrix organizations; familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban) is a plus.
- Leadership and influencing skills; structured decision-making under uncertainty; ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health; conflict resolution across product, Research and Development (R&D), legal, and commercial teams.
- Customer and value focus; business case creation; return on investment (ROI)-driven prioritization; change management, flexibility, multicultural sensitivity, and global collaboration.
Relevant work experience
- Typically 10+ years of experience (or equivalent practical experience) building and successfully launching software products; direct experience in travel and payments or adjacent industries; proven cross-functional and cross-border collaboration to execute strategies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business and/or computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
