Job Description
We are looking for a highly organized and strategic Demand and Inventory Planning Manager, forecasting customer demand, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring product availability while minimizing excess stock and costs. This role works cross-functionally with sales, operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to drive efficient planning processes and improve service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and business inputs
- Collaborate with sales, and finance teams to incorporate seasonality and new program launches
- Monitor forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvements
Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
- Develop and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize obsolescence, shortages, and excess.
- Collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams to optimize space utilization and stock movement.
- Implement inventory tracking systems and suggest improvements for real-time inventory visibility.
Supply Planning & Coordination
- Align demand plans with supply capabilities and production schedules
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment
- Identify and mitigate supply risks and constraints
Analytics & Reporting
- Track KPIs such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover and stock-outs
- Generate regular reports and dashboards for Leadership team/management
- Use data analytics to identify trends and improve planning processes
Process Improvement
- Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) or IBP (Integrated Business Planning) processes
- Implement best practices and tools for demand and inventory planning
- Drive automation and system improvements (ERP, APS tools, etc.)
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of planners
- Set performance goals and provide coaching and development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field
- 5–8 years of experience in Demand and inventory management in a manufacturing setup
- Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle, or similar) and planning tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities
