Role Description
The AM Automation and Instrumentation role is a full-time, on-site position located in Mundra. The responsibilities include overseeing automation processes, implementing process automation solutions, conducting troubleshooting, developing and validating test cases, and ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams to maintain and optimize operational systems.
Hands-on Automation & Instrumentation Engineer with strong expertise in PLCs, Drives, and plant troubleshooting. Electrical knowledge should be basic and supportive.
Key Skills Required
Automation (Primary Focus):
PLC: Siemens S7-1200 PLC / Siemens S7-1500 PLC / Siemens S7-200 PLC
Exposure to Schneider / Omron / Delta / Innovance systems
PLC programming, online troubleshooting & logic modification
Program backup & restore
Drives & Motion:
Siemens SINAMICS S120 Drive / Siemens SINAMICS G120 Drive
Servo & Stepper systems
Drive fault diagnostics & parameter tuning
HMI / SCADA:
Siemens SIMATIC HMI / Schneider HMI
Alarm handling & communication troubleshooting
Instrumentation Exposure:
Flow, Level, LVDT, Linear scale
Proximity sensors, Limit switches
4–20 mA signal troubleshooting
Electrical (Basic Required):
Motor run/trip understanding
MCC panel basic knowledge
Overload / short circuit basics
Earthing, ACB/VCB
Role Responsibilities
Automation system troubleshooting (PLC, Drives, HMI) and Instrumentation, Electrical Side.
Breakdown handling & quick resolution
Program backup & modification
Support in plant improvement & modifications
Basic RCA, MTTR/MTBF tracking
We are looking for someone who has real plant troubleshooting experience, strong in Drives & PLC (hands-on).
Can handle breakdown independently
Good team coordination & ownership mindset.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Process Automation and Automation technologies
- Strong skills in Troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues promptly
- Experience in creating, executing, and validating Test Cases
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance processes to ensure system reliability and efficiency
- Solid communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Prior experience in instrumentation and automation in the manufacturing industry is preferred
