Job Title: AM – ROC Operations & Technical Escalation (Solar)
Location: Surat, Gujarat
Experience: 7–10 Years strictly in utility-scale Renewable Operations Centers (ROC/NOC)
Department: Operations & Maintenance
About the Role: At KP Group, our Renewable Operations Center (ROC) is the nerve center managing 2+ GW of Solar, Wind, and Hybrid assets. We are not looking for a desk manager to shuffle papers and forward emails. We are looking for an Assistant/Deputy Manager who will act as the operational commander of the ROC floor and the absolute highest point of technical escalation.
When a 100 MW block trips, or a critical SCADA integration pipeline fails, the buck stops with you. You will command the shift teams, enforce rigorous operational discipline, and jump directly into the technical weeds to resolve complex communication protocols, grid compliance issues, and OEM disputes. If you do not have hands-on experience troubleshooting plant-level technical faults and SCADA architecture, do not apply.
Command & Operational Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and command the 24/7 ROC shift operations, ensuring absolute adherence to SOPs, alarm response times, and daily reporting metrics.
- Act as the primary bridge between the ROC, on-site O&M teams, and senior leadership, translating complex operational anomalies into clear directives.
- Lead rapid-response coordination during severe grid disturbances, forced outages, or extreme weather events.
- Drive cross-training programs to elevate the technical competency of shift engineers from basic monitoring to advanced level-1 troubleshooting.
Technical Escalation & SCADA Mastery (The Heavy Lifting):
- Serve as the final technical escalation authority for severe plant tripping events, grid curtailments, and localized equipment failures (Inverters, WTGs, Trackers).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex SCADA integration, telemetry, and data-pipeline failures between site PLCs/RTUs and the centralized NOC architecture.
- Lead high-stakes technical reviews with OEMs and EPC contractors, utilizing raw data to force accountability for recurring faults and availability drops.
- Ensure absolute compliance with SLDC/RLDC scheduling, forecasting, and grid code telemetry requirements, mitigating commercial penalties.
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable):
- 7 to 10 years of hardcore experience in a utility-scale ROC/NOC, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical escalation role.
- Electrical & SCADA Fluency: You must possess a deep understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC DA/UA, IEC 104) and power systems engineering. You need to know why data dropped, not just report that it dropped.
- Asset Expertise: Proven track record of diagnosing sub-system failures in both Solar (String/Central inverters, pooling stations) and Wind (Pitch/Yaw systems, converters, grid integration).
- Educational Background: B.Tech strictly in Electrical, Electronics & Communication, or Power Systems Engineering.
