Jr Technical Writer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in creating, editing, and managing technical documentation that supports our engineering and product teams. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver clear, concise, and comprehensive technical materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including functional requirement documents (FRD), business requirement documents (BRD), user manuals, API documentation, release notes, and technical flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), product managers, and software engineers to gather and synthesize technical information.
• Create and maintain visual documentation such as workflows, diagrams, process maps, and architecture diagrams.
• Write clear and structured product stories and engineering documentation.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with company standards, including style guides and formatting guidelines.
• Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
• Manage documentation repositories, version control, and updates.
• Research and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve the quality of documentation.
• Stay updated with best practices, tools, and trends in technical writing and software engineering documentation.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in industries such as SaaS, IT, or Engineering.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Lucidchart, Draw.io, or similar tools for documentation and diagram creation.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and basic understanding of programming languages, APIs, or database concepts.
• Proficiency in creating technical diagrams, process flows, and architectural illustrations.
• Experience writing technical documentation such as FRDs, BRDs, and release notes.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical diagrams, including workflows, use case diagrams, database schema diagrams, system architecture diagrams, ER diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, state diagrams, network diagrams, and dependency graphs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and documentation tools.
• Familiarity with UX writing, content strategy, or Agile workflows.
• A technical background in software engineering or related fields is a significant advantage.
