SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Production Manager provides leadership of the team resources to assure production needs are met while following proper safety and quality standards.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

The Production Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Production Supervisor (when applicable) and all department technicians, on their assigned shift, are direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

1. Leadership

  • Provides oversight and leadership to both Manufacturing and Packaging production teams.
  • Manages and approves all final timecards and PTO requests for the shift with input from the supervisor as applicable.
  • Communicate short- and long-term plans and goals with Union staff. Act as the key resource for staff members to achieve all plans and goals.
  • Provides input to department goals including business plans and staffing needs.
  • Provides Leadership and Guidance to the Maintenance Technicians on their respective shift.
  • Set priorities and direction consistent with the Business Plan and Quality Policy.
  • Ensures compliance, coaching, and assistance with SOPs, cGMPs, safety and company policies.
  • Guide, monitor and develop team to foster continuous improvement. Set realistic objectives and clearly assign accountability and responsibility for tasks and decisions.
  • Oversees investigations using system driven resolutions, continuous improvement initiatives, applying tools to improve quality, cost, safety, and cycle time.
  • Enforce and drive high Operational standards (Safety, Quality, cGMPs, DEA).
  • Set standards and continuously monitor performance. Implement action plans for improving standards and delivery.
  • Analyze trends and Metrics data to establish targeted improvement projects.
  • Interface effectively with all Management, Quality, Support and Research staff, Technology, Facilities Maintenance, Supply Chain, Customers, Contractors and Visitors, and Auditors.

2. Safety

  • Ensure the safety of the staff by practicing and enforcing safe practices and procedures.
  • Partner with Safety to investigate safety incidents to determine root cause and work with support organizations (Engineering, FM, and Maintenance) to implement solutions and CAPAs to eliminate future incidents.
  • Audit and enforce housekeeping, cGMP, and safety practices.
  • Ensure operations is in compliance with regulatory agency standards.
  • Support outside agency and customer quality audits as required.
  • Training & Talent Management
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, promotion, and management of staff in the organization.
  • Effectively manage employee performance, input, and provide guidance in setting goals and objectives.
  • Actively support Teams in successful planning and implementation of targeted objectives.
  • Ensure required training is carried out and in line with Operations’ needs.

6. Labor Relations

  • Set priorities and direction consistent with the Union Contract.
  • Lead problem solving and participate in Labor Relations issues when necessary.
  • Display and support a positive relationship with the Union Leadership and their members.


QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment with 3 years of production leadership experience.

· BS in a technical discipline or equivalent education/technical work experience.

· Demonstrated leadership experience, including successful track record of completing deliverables on schedule and on budget.

· Demonstrated experience in managing people.

· Proven ability to apply standards, hold others accountable, and set a strategy to deliver business objectives.

· Excellent written and verbal communication.

· Can effectively prioritize work assignments, meet commitments, and deadlines.

GMP DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

1. Review and approve documents as required, i.e., deviation reports, purchase requisitions, new and revised batch record formulations, etc.

2. Determine required technical training and champion resources which deliver against specific training plans

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000. This position is eligible for Alvogen’s annual discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package, consisting of medical and prescription drug coverage (two PPO plans and an HDHP with Health Savings Account and employer contribution), dental, vision, flexible spending accounts. Alvogen’s benefits package also includes a retirement savings program, long-term care coverage, paid time off (176 hours per year, prorated to hire date) inclusive of sick time, disability benefits, life insurance, a wellness program, and 13 company recognized paid holidays per year.
